mountain
Twelve of the highest mountains in the Canadian Rockies encircle the Columbia Icefield, massive enduring sentinels, Guardians protecting the Icefield and the six major glaciers it feeds. Though the natural world is still with us, sustaining and abundant, we are pushing it relentlessly into a smaller and smaller back room of the human household, as a result of human industrial activity. As photographers, we are privileged to encounter this magical place in its long moment of crisis, invited to capture the beauty and mystery of what is being lost, and what will endure.
