Moulin: Inside the glacier. Meltwater erodes an inlet, and the water enters the body of the glacier via deeply eroded vertical shafts. Our slogan Ice = Water = Life captures the meaning of moulins in the age of climate crisis: the Water of Life is washing away the Mother of Rivers. These images approach abstraction. We imagine the viewer wondering, “Is this real?” There is no distortion; the camera captured the light within the ice as it was. This offers the viewer the opportunity to pause in contemplation with the image.
